Black Urban Media is proud to present the first African made smart phone. Everyone knows that Africa has an abundance of natural resources to make any ambitious “go-getter” rich, but Congolese entrepreneur Verone Mankou stands out by creating the VMK Elikia (English translation for “Hope”) smart phone.
3.5-inch (and 480 x 320) display, 512MB of RAM, a 650MHz processor and both 5-megapixel rear aswell as front VGA cameras
The price of this device starts at $170 US without cell phone contract. That’s what’s up! Unfortunately, it’s mainly available within the Congo. However, Verone is planning on making the phone available worldwide. Check out the video that introduces this African smartphone innovation.
Let’s cross our fingers that our brother is able to bring this phone to the US.
